This was SO GOOD. This was by far the best workshop on color I have been too! I have been to some that focused only on color and some that just touched on color. And, I can honestly say I gained more from your one day workshop than all of the others combined, plus most of the books I have read. Your presentation was simple, useful, adaptable (I work in watercolor and not oil) and geared towards every attendee. I would love to do another workshop and take it one step further. I don’t feel lost, or overloaded, or full of questions or uncertainties – and that is saying a lot. I feel like I really got my feet wet, learned a lot, and also very importantly, learned the tools to be able to use this data on my own and get better and better at it. Another thing that was wonderful about your workshop, we came home not with a notebook full of notes, but with page after page of samples of how and what and why we did what we did. MUCH better. MUCH more useful. Much more lasting. Perfect. I would do any workshop with you. (and I am extremely picky). - Judy Tausig
Thank you Liz! I’m no longer afraid of color!!! This was like the missing link to all the data i’ve had about color all these years. I’ve been pulling away from the Cad’s ‘cause they are so difficult to control. Now I know why. I’ve understood compliments and know how to make grey and brown and stuff, I’ve known about cools and warms and that that is a relationship between colors not an absolute for a color. But really seeing this warm & cool for each primary and how to mix depending on what you’re going for. Well that just dialed me in. I look forward to thinking with this data, and to the next course. - Trish Alexandria
I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to improve their color knowledge and application. Lizz, you are a very patient teacher and high tolerance for your students. You were very well prepared and delivered a controlled and well delivered workshop. Obviously you have given your lesson plans a lot of thought. I liked the way you kept us on track. Regarding the information in the workshop: I was introduced to a a color theory that enabled me to have a more control of creating the colors that I wanted. I produced two sellable paintings by integrating the information I gleaned from the workshop in what I already knew. - Karla Bartholomew
Thanks for your 'class notes' and links to color palettes. I really enjoyed your workshop on Color. It was most informative and I learned a lot. I left with a renewed interest in painting along with a diminished fear of color and am forever grateful for your encouragement. I'd love to take another workshop with you in Chatham and will try to arrange my weeks there next summer to match your dates. - Linda H.
