Let's Start to Paint
Before we begin to understand how colors interact with each other it's important to know the range of the colors on your palette.
In this section you will take your colors, ONE AT A TIME, and add a bit of White until you have a very pale version of your initial color. You can see me doing this on the video which you will watch next.
If you are using watercolor, make sure you use almost or all pure pigment for the start and then lighten up your color with water to know what your full range capability is.
As you mix each version, fill a square. It will start to look like this:
You will do this for each color.
At the top of you chart write the name of color and put a spot of the pure color so you will remember what it is. I will often write the brand of paint too as not all colors are necessarily the same even with the same name.
Watch the video and then you will be ready to paint your own value range. Yay!! Let's go!
